Bariloche Lodging:

Arroyo Verde
Situated about one hour from Bariloche in the unspoiled Lake District, the Arroyo Verde is a great place to discover this beautiful region. The main house is located in the Traful Valley, with snow-capped peaks in the distance and the pristine stream of the Traful River, which runs through powerful rapids for more than ten miles and has pools of brown and rainbow trout. The surrounding Andes Mountains are a perfect place for exciting horseback riding and trekking excursions. In the summer you also can enjoy an outdoor picnic of asado (Argentine barbeque) at the lake.

The estancia features four double rooms with a private bath and mountain views, as well as a cozy log cabin that can sleep four atop a nearby hill and overlooking the river. The stay includes all meals, laundry, airport transfers, and English-speaking guides for the various activities. Arroyo Verde also offers guests an open bar and all of the usual activities, including lake excursions, fly-fishing, horseback riding, trekking, and bird watching.

Peuma Hue Estancia
Peuma Hue, "Place of Dreams" in the Mapuche language, is a paradise for lovers of nature and adventure sports, with its 494 acres (200 hectares) of surrounding mountains, forests and waterfalls. Located on the shores of the Gutierrez Lake between Cerro Catedral (Cathedral Mountain) and Mount D'Agostini, Puema Hue is an excellent place for trekking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and kayaking. The more adventurous can opt for white water rafting, rock climbing or rappelling. The estancia is also close to the trails that connect to the Nahuel Haupi National Park, one of the largest and most visited national parks in Argentina.

Peuma Hue provides its guests luxury lodging in the rugged wilderness of Patagonia. Enjoy a cozy room overlooking the Gutierrez Lake or lodge in a private cabin with suite bedrooms. It also has a stable, organic garden and green house. Peuma Hue is also unique in that it features delicious, homemade meals made from organic vegetables from its garden. After a full day of exploring the mountains, enjoy a massage and a whirlpool bubble bath overlooking the beautiful Andean peaks. There are also yoga and tango classes, and classic Andean and Celtic music concerts.

Estancia Fortin Chacabuco
Located 30 minutes north of Bariloche in the heart of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, Estancia Fortin Chacbuco offers its guests an opportunity to discover the unique historical flavor of a traditional Patagonian estancia. The surrounding landscape of Andes mountains, waterfalls and forests makes it an excellent place to see the exquisite natural beauty that is typical of Patagonia. It offers guests the opportunity to see first-hand the inner workings of life on the ranch. The estancia is well known in the area for a breed of sheep that produces both great tasting meat and high quality wool.

Located on the banks of the Limay River and close to the Traful, Pi Chi Leufu and Caleufu Rivers as well, the lodge is ideally located for some of the best fishing on the continent. It also provides horseback riding excursions and guided trail rides. Rickie, the estancia manager, cooks up delicious traditional dishes and an excellent cordero al cruz, locally raised lamb cooked slowly on an open fire.
